Artist book trailer: Reaching The Distance by Matilde Soligno

Matilde Soligno’s artist book collects the photographs from her project «Reaching The Distance,» along with a series of texts written by the artist. The publication is limited edition, following the tradition of artist books, and taking care of the specificity of the physical object. The book experiments with different papers, and – in consonance with the concept on which the photographic project is based – giving attention to the idea of «presence». An ebook version will be free for download for all those who purchase the paper version of the book. It will include multimedia content and news related to the project, such as the realization of an exhibition in the shape of an installation that will develop its sound and spatial dimensions along with the visual one.

Il libro d’artista di Matilde Soligno raccoglie le fotografie del progetto «Reaching The Distance», corredate di una serie di testi redatti dall’artista. La pubblicazione è a edizione limitata, nell’ottica della tradizione del libro d’artista e della cura della specificità dell’oggetto fisico. Il libro sperimenta con diversi supporti cartacei e, assecondando il concetto che sta alla base del progetto fotografico stesso, dando attenzione all’idea di «presenza». Alla pubblicazione cartacea farà poi seguito quella digitale sotto forma di libro per tablet, che sarà scaricabile gratuitamente dagli acquirenti della pubblicazione fisica e raccoglierà anche i materiali multimediali e le news relative al progetto, il quale prevede anche la realizzazione di una mostra, sotto forma di installazione, che ne svilupperà le dimensioni sonora e spaziale oltre a quella visiva.
